  • Individuals must have an ID.me account to get this PIN otherwise they have to create an account to request this PIN. 
  • After log in, individuals have to provide all required information to request IP PIN and the IP will be immediately displayed on your screen. 
  • Individuals can also mail Form 15227 to the IRS if their identity is not verified online or they may make an appointment for an in-person meeting at a local Taxpayer Assistance Center if their identity is not verified through both methods.

  • Individuals have to dial 800-908-4490 for specialized assistance and international users can call at 1-267-941-1000 to retrieve their IP PIN if they are unable to do it online. Your IP PIN will be mailed to you by the IRS in just 21 days after verification of your identity.
